Max Cavalera 's comments about Marc Rizzo saying " lies and nonsense " that were the product of his "crazy mind," Rizzo commented again on his departure from Soulfly , saying that Cavalera can "say whatever he wants" and that he has been "doing this for years" with members of Sepultura and former members of Soulfly itself.

In a new interview with Aftershocks TV , Marc Rizzo reiterated that he was unhappy in Max Cavalera's band and that he had concluded that being in Soulfly "wasn't worth" his time anymore [transcription via Blabbermouth ]. "I've always had a lot of love and respect for Max, but the last few years have been difficult. It's no secret that he's not really playing guitar on stage, at least not at the level he should be playing. Fans have been talking about this for years. It's clear that people aren't happy and I wasn't either, as a fan and as a band member," Rizzo commented.

“Whatever Max is saying in the press, he can say whatever he wants. He’s been doing this kind of thing for years with Sepultura and former Soulfly members. The fans know who I am. I chat with all the fans. I’m very, very approachable after every show. It’s not a big deal. It’s water under the bridge for me,” the guitarist concluded.

Marc Rizzo also said that Soulfly didn't have a habit of making advance payments and that it was customary for the band to decide to take months off work without prior notice. "I've been working on my solo project since 2005 or 2006, and that's what sustained me between Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy ," he commented. "I'm very grateful to the fans who have always supported me and come to my solo shows."
